This really is a lovely Capri.

We purchased it from the last owner who spent all of lockdown fully restoring it

Indeed, he has spent over £25,000, restoring it and doing the bulk of the work himself, and not adding that labour cost to the bill!!

The list of works he has done are staggering .

It is probably one of the best Capri I’ve ever driven

A superb example .

Below is a list of the works that the last owner carried out.

We have attended to some bodywork issues and the car presents beautifully.

Underneath is spectacular.



This Ford Capri 2.8 injection Special arrived with us a couple of weeks ago.

The last owner has spent nearly 3 years restoring it .

Underneath is simply amazing .

The paint work was good, not perfect despite a full respray .

So our Bodyshop has attended to all of that, and it now looks stunning .

The interior was fully refurbished by the last owner .

And I very much doubt there are many better than this .

It drives, simply like new .


Below is a list of works. The last owner did.

He spent over £25,000 on it excluding his purchase price and did a lot of the work himself, so it would have cost a lot more if a business hourly rate was introduced his comments are listed-below .. .


So a very reluctant sale, I had this advertised around a month ago at which time the old heart strings got a tug and I decided not part with it, however I need the space so it has to go.


We have yet to detail the engine that is next on the list of jobs to do


Body repairs.

Sills inners and outers.

Wings replaced .

Lower quartes front of wheels and behind wheels, all expanding foam removed!

Inner and outer arches replaced, as well as lower inner quarters. 

Rear chassis on both sides had "wrap around patches" all cut out and rebuilt form the inside, double skinned as per the factory. 

Front spring hangers, plates all replaced both sides. 

Rear panel removed and replaced to allow better access to repair the chassis.

Toe boards replace both sides.

Strengthening brackes replace both sides.

Complete inner wing top on drivers side, panel supplied by express steel panels.

Both headlight bowls replaced, bowls supplied by express steel panels.

Frond panel, second hand front panel all the way from Germany!

Front cross member and closure piece, express steel panels again.

Both inner wing walking plates.

Both inner wing strut top strengthening plates.

As well as A-post repairs both sides and minor front chassis repairs.

New door seals

New windcreen and seal. 

Refurbished seats, the leather being replaced by "severe" vinyl, looks and feels like leather. 


Mechanical repairs.

Engine stripped chemically cleaned, bores measured and honed and the bottom end rebuilt with new piston rings, main and big end bearings and a new oil pump. Finished off with a new camshaft and followers. New water pump and viscous fan fitted also. 

Cylinder heads chemically cleaned, pressure tested and skimmed (10 thou) Fitted with hardened valve seats on the exhaust ports along with new valve stem seals all round.

The rear axle along with the gearbox was sent off to a friend of a friend for a complete strip down and rebuild, the diff being LSD the plates were stripped, cleaned and measured and the diff rebuild along wih all new bearings, the gearbox was stripped inspected for wear and rebuilt with all new bearings and seals. 

Rear suspension is all new, newe leaf springs and new Koni gas shocks, all the bushes are new. 

Rear brakes all new, new drums, shoes cylinders etc. 

Front supension, new track control arms, new bilstein strut inserts, new front springs and strut top bearings. 

Frot brakes new diiscs, pads and refurbished discs, new front wheel bearings. 

Refurbished radiater and all coolant hoses were replaced.

Fuel injection system, new relay, new fuel pump, new fuel pressure accumulater, new filter, metering head refrubished, WAR refurbished and finished off with new injecters.  

New exhaust system (capri club).

Wheels re furbished and fitted with new Nankang tyres, all five wheels!

This was a complete and thorough restoration taking almost two years with all the work carried out 95% by myself .
